Featured Member of the Month

Henry Walsh, E.I.


Where are you originally from?
HW: "I grew up in northeastern Nevada in a town called Spring Creek which is just outside Elko. I eventually moved to Reno in 2018 to earn a degree from the University of Nevada, Reno."

Why did you want to become a civil engineer?
HW: "I enjoy problem solving, wanted to improve communities, and work in the field of STEM. So civil engineering seemed like the right career path."

How did you find out about ASCE? How has it affected your career?
HW: "A coworker told me that the YMF board at the time is expecting me at their next meeting and that I need to attend.  ASCE has had a positive impact on my leadership, and professional growth. As well as, build relationships with my peers in the industry. "

​What is your dream vacation and why?
HW: "My dream vacation is to bike South Korea. There is over 400 miles of protected bike lane over there and I hear the food is amazing!"
