What is the Student Office Crawl?
The Student Office Crawl is an event our YMF has put on annually since 2017! Reno is well known for its themed bar crawls and annual 'wine-walks' around our downtown and midtown areas. Taking that concept of a 'crawl', our YMF organizes a tour of local civil engineering offices in town for college students at the University of Nevada, Reno! Over the course of 1-2 days, students will "crawl" to 7-8 offices in town. This event is not only beneficial for students to scope out potential jobs and internships, but it is a unique opportunity to see the various types of companies and professions there are in our local civil and environmental engineering community.
For the companies involved, they get exposure and the opportunity to show prospective future employees what they are all about! Students bring resumes with them and many companies hire interns and graduating students through this event! Additionally, companies get compete and see who puts on the best office crawl for the students. They give the students personal tours of their offices, insights into their projects and work day-to-day, and of course free food and merch!
